• Director, Tamaya Horse Rehabilitation Program
• Owner/Operator, The Stables at Tamaya at Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa
• Owner, CWW Feed, San Ysidro, New Mexico
I have a lifelong love of horses and animals, and I love to to help people and horses come together. I grew up going to horse shows and rodeos. Later I married a ranch cowboy who took me all over New Mexico and Arizona working with horses, dogs and cattle. At the CWW Feed Store, I began working with horses and kids through 4-H. Then, I married a really tolerant man, David Collis. who helped me realize my dream of having lots of horses. I have bought, taken in, adopted, and rescued horses from all over, so the job at Hyatt Regency Tamaya was a perfect fit.
Our program is 100% volunteer driven. We rely on 26 volunteers, many of them giving their time on a daily basis, not only to care for the horses, but help our organization move forward.
Partners of the Heart with Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa
We would not be here without our partnership with Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa and the Pueblo of Santa Ana. When Connie approached Hyatt about starting a horse rehabilitation program, they responded with overwhelming encouragement and support. They have supported us in so many ways - volunteer support, donations and linking us with both companies and individuals who are interested in this cause. Each time a guest takes a trail ride or attends a rodeo, it helps the Tamaya Horse Rehabiliation Program. We wouldn’t be here without them.
